Accessibility Issue:- Siri not working

Hi. My wife is totally blind so uses accessibility on her iPhone XR. Siri has stopped working. It works perfectly when not in Accessibility mode, but as soon as you turn Accessibility on it cuts you short when speaking and doesn't understand what you are saying. Has anyone encountered this? It's really stopped her being able to use the iPhone

Hi chrisohara021,

Re: Has anyone encountered this?

Haven't noticed any others sharing this situation, but that doesn't mean others don't.

Wondering if it might help to check some of Siri's iPhone settings.

Eg:

"By default, Siri won't respond when your device is face down or covered,

unless you go to Settings > Accessibility > Siri and turn on Always Listen for "Hey Siri."

You might need to check that setting is turned on?

Above is from Apple Support's article, (link below) which contains more tips:

Also

Use accessibility features with Siri on iPhone - Apple Support

says:

"Control voice feedback for Siri

  1. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Siri.
  2. Choose Don’t Speak in Silent Mode, Only Speak with Hey Siri, or Always Speak Responses."

Again, there are more tips in the complete article (link above)
