It is stunning that the Photo application, that used to allow you to capture a frame from a video as a still frame with one click, now no longer allows that. Instead you have to go through a multi-step process involving opening other apps. This is a commonly used function. Does anybody know if Apple is going to bring it back in Photos? Or how to complain to the company directly about this?

You can do it with the Snapshot feature of the free VLC app.
It creates a jpg file of whatever frame you're stopped at.
Thanks Old Toad. Another multi step work around to what Apple used to let us do with one step.
