issue after migration of old lap top to new one

New mac bookpro, migrated all data, but new laptop wont open with old password but never asked for a new one.

How do i get into the new laptop

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.6

Locked out of my new computer after using Migration Assistant Used Migration Assistant to migrate to a new MacBook Pro and now I can't unlock my computer at all. I've used my old password and also the new password but neither are unlocking the computer. Any thoughts?

Post PC Migration Assistant to iMac - Password not available for start up. Migrated from old Windows 7 PC to new Ventura iMac. Was not aware of any PW on old Windows PC but Mac requires one (and named the new Mac with same name as old PC). Cannot open new Mac to complete setup process. Have seen technique using Recovery Mode, but holding Command and R keys only returns to regular login screen with no chance to access utilities to reset password. Any advice please? What are we missing? Thanks for any ideas.
