If I am using iMessage, does it cost money to send texts from the US to the UK?

IF the intended recipient has iMessage enabled and they have an active data connection, it should go as an iMessage. There is no charge for sending or receiving iMessages beyond the normal data plan charges from your carrier.

If for some reason it can't be delivered as an iMessage and you have send as SMS enabled, the message may go out as a standard SMS or MMS message, in which case it will be subject to charges from your cellular carrier if applicable.
