Why it become Long minus sign?———?

If i use two minus sign then, both of them attach to each other making long minus.


— It Shows This (it is invalid, an error)

-- I want this ( I am Using G -Board btw)


Is anyone acknowledging this

why i need this, cause i need to write some command from mobile so..

Go to your keyboard setting and make sure that "Smart Punctuation" is turned OFF.

While I don’t have the answer for you (other than that your particular software is “mis-interpreting” your keystroke intent on your behalf) …

FYI, there are actually THREE types of “dashes”


(I discovered this while troubleshooting a control system malfunction caused by using the wrong “flavor” of dash in the underlying code)
