which ethernet cable for iMac for printer

I want to hardwire my HP Envy 6400e printer to my iMac, what ethernet and other cables do I need to purchase?

Any CAT5 Ethernet calbel will do. How close to the printer will your iMac be? If it's right next to it you could also use a USB A cable. The manual indicates both will work.

If you're connected to the internet with Ethernet you might have to use USB.

Any reason you don't want to use it wirelessly?

I'm out in the country and between 2 towers for Internet/WiFi. This new printer has dropped connections after I replaced the ink cartridges. I tried for 2+ hours to get it re-establsihed and call HP also. It just would not work. Buying a cable was the fastest solution. Printer is 1.5 feet from iMac and router. Onward!
