Your iPhone XR cannot display the battery percentage in the menu bar, hence why it doesn't appear as an option.

The only way to see the battery percentage on an iPhone XR is to swipe down from the top right to open the control center.
Dear SravanKrA - This doesn't work. You are wrong. It's not an option.
And I was trying to click that this was NOT helpful, but it only turned on that it was helpful, and there is apparently not a way to change that.
