I want to install the SSD from my old 2013 Macbook Pro 15 inch into a replacement 2013 Macbook Pro 15 inch of the same model that has had the SSD removed. Will the SSD from mine work with its operating system? And will there be any other concerns?

If it is the original Apple OEM SSD, then yes if it is the identical model. If it is not the identical model, then maybe.
If it is a third party SSD, then maybe as long as the laptop at one time had macOS 10.13+ installed so that the system firmware has been updated to work with third party NVMe SSDs.
