Netflix won’t work on Apple TV gen 3

I received an Apple TV gen 3 from a friend. Proceeded to reset all settings and logged into all the apps I wanted to stream. Things went great for awhile.


Netflix used to work but after my gf reset the password, I can’t log in. Checked and I have the latest OS update for Apple TV.

Tried:

  • hiding the app and showing again,
  • resetting the password,
  • consulted Netflix support
  • resetting the Apple TV to factory settings


Even after resetting the Apple TV to factory settings, I was able to log into all my other apps EXCEPT for Netflix.


understand this Apple TV is old, but it used to work and now it doesn’t. If it doesn’t work, ready to move onto Roku.

Right, that seemed likely. Try updating your email address with Netflix (on the web). I think you should be able to re-enter the same address and then save/update. That worked for other users with the same model device and same error code.

Did you use the new password? Can you access Netflix on other devices (smartphone, tablet, computer) with the same credentials?


Consulted Netflix support

Did you get an error message when trying to sign in? What does it say?
