Erased all my stuff when I got a new laptop on accident.

I got a new macbook and was giving my new old to my aunt. While deleting everything from my old one, it was also deleting it from my new one. Everything in the iCloud is now gone and I don't have any documents on my new laptop OR my old laptop. I went through all the drive areas and found a few items (only because they weren't deleted), but everything else is gone.

Is there anything I can do to recover my documents. I had a lot of work and homework docs I need to get back.

FWIW, you should follow this before selling or giving away your Mac to avoid data loss and other issues:

What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your Mac - Apple Support

because there can be additional issues if the above is not followed.
