Apple ID is a pain

I have five apple devices and there is always one that will force me to change my Apple ID password. My iPad is the culprit now. It will not allow me to put the new Apple ID into it. I changed my id several weeks ago because my Mac mini didn't accept the ID. I have all but my iPad signed in now. Here is my issue with Apple ID's, as we get older, I'm 75, having to remember passwords is a problem. Apple is the ONLY company that forces you to remember a password. I don't have problems with Google, Proton Mail, or any other company, only Apple. Writing down ID's and having them lie around defeats the purpose of having security on a device.

Even getting on this website, when I placed my Apple ID into the sign in page it would not recognize it. When I clicked cancel, the page underneath the sign-in pop up, allowed my credentials. I signed into Apple on my phone using my new credentials, no problem. I signed into apple on my MBA, no problem. While Apple may think they have the most secure system in the whole world, it is the most frustrating to us old folks.

It's not clear from your post whether you are changing your Apple ID or changing your Apple ID password. You say that you're iPad won't let you "put the new Apple ID into it". Is that an entirely new Apple ID? Or the same Apple ID with a new password?

When you change your Apple ID password, are you signing out of all of your devices first? That's recommended.

It's also not clear why you are (or think you are) being asked to change your password. Apple ID passwords don't expire. When and under what circumstances are you seeing this?

If your post had been clear to me, I wouldn't have asked additional questions.

When I sign into a device or have to get on Apple for an issue, sometimes Apple doesn't recognize my ID. If you think that Apple always recognize ID's you are wrong.

Sometimes one makes typing mistakes but I have never, upon careful re-entry, had an Apple device fail to recognize my creditials.

As I mentioned, even getting on apple on a device like this Mini or my laptop, the pop up screen will not accept my password. If I default to the screen below it, It will accept my password.

That descrption is also not clear to me. Screenshots might help.

I changed my ID several months ago from Gmail because I want to rid my system of Google. Since then I've had to change my PASSWORD several times.

Changing your Gmail passcode is completely unrelated to chagning your Apple ID passcode, even if you use your Gmail address as your Apple ID user name. I have a Gmail account. I also happen to use that email address as my Apple ID user name. However, my Gmail account and my Apple ID have entirely different passcodes. Changing one doesn't affect the other. If you changed your Gmail password and then tried to use that password as your Apple ID password, that could be part of your problem.

I'm pretty clear I think. When I sign into a device or have to get on Apple for an issue, sometimes Apple doesn't recognize my ID. If you think that Apple always recognize ID's you are wrong. Yes, I did sign out of all my devices. As I mentioned, even getting on apple on a device like this Mini or my laptop, the pop up screen will not accept my password. If I default to the screen below it, It will accept my password. This is not only frustrating it is ridiculous. My iPad cannot get signed in after changing my password, not the device password. I changed my ID several months ago from Gmail because I want to rid my system of Google. Since then I've had to change my PASSWORD several times. The process should not have to be this difficult. If I change my password on Google, not only do I not have to remember it forever, Google remembers it until I change it again which I do often. I hope this is more understandable.
