two extended monitors are mirrored instead of separate screen
have two added monitors extended but, they are mirroring each other. How can I change them to be two separate monitors?

you can drag the displays apart (they are not quite coincident)
You can uncheck [√]Mirror displays
you can press Command-BrightnessDown to toggle the sense of mirror displays chewckbox
