extended display white after update

after updating to ventura 13.0.1 my second display attached to my imac only shows a white screen and cannot move the cursor over it either. the monitor shows in the display settings and i have tried changing resolution and refresh rate but all that happens is both monitor turn black for a second and then the secondary goes back to white.

restarting the mac and reconnecting the display did nothing so not sure what else to do.

Hello danielefromlondon,

If your external monitor is not working properly, here's some steps you can try: If your external display isn't detected or appears blurry when connected to your Mac

You can also try starting the computer in safe mode or testing another user account to rule out any software issues.

Start up your Mac in safe mode

Add a user or group on Mac

If the monitor still won't work, you'll want to contact Apple to report the issue: Get Support

Cheers!
