keys 7 8 9 u i o j k l m , . stopped working on iMac17,1 portable Bluetooth keyboard

Nothing was spilled on the keyboard and the perplexing thing is that the 'm' key works as part of my password to allow me to get into my iMac, yet once I'm logged in, that swath of keys do not work. I wonder if there is a combination of keys that I've pressed at the same time that have locked that section of keys.

Thank you 'dialabrain,' that is exactly what happened - I went into system preferences, accessibility, mouse and track pad and unchecked the box 'enable mouse keys' - I also unchecked the box that is below it 'Spring Loaded Delay' - I don't know if that was necessary but that set of keys (7 8 9 u i o j k l m , .) now works! Thank-you, Thank-you!!
