I just got my Apple TV 4K 2nd generation and had been using it on a different tv(not new, probably same age or older than second tv) and the volume worked on the apple remote, but I recently switched tvs (second from 2014) and now the apple remote will turn off the tv but not control the volume. I have turned on the CEC control which allowed me to turn off the tv with the apple remote but cannot change volume.

Figured it out. Hadn’t learned the remote for the tv in the volume control but now I have and now my Apple TV remote can control the tv volume.
I tried restarting my remote but it did not change anything.
