Unable to pair old A1016 keyboard using HomeBrew

Hi All,

I am trying to pair the old A1016 Bluetooth keyboard to an M1 Macmini and have found numerous other posts about it which claim to use Homebrew and blueutil. I am trying that, but frequently receive the error that the Mac address cannot be found. I know for 100% certain I have the correct Mac address. I’m on Ventura, but on Monterey the bluetooth setting would display it and I’ve also connected it to a Windows machine and verified the address were the same.

I type in the command blueutil —pair [mac address] 0000

turn on the A1016 keyboard

wait about 10-15 seconds then press enter

then get that error

I usually have the bluetooth settings up so I can see the keyboard appear as a device.

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Mac mini, macOS 13.1
