Apple Pencil not working

I was drawing with my Apple Pencil Gen2 on my Ipad Air (gen4) and suddenly, it stopped drawing. I figured it was out of charge and put it on the magnet to charge. After about 15 mins I deattached and reattached so it would display the charge, and in that moment I saw the percentage and it disappeared suddenly. After that, the pencil never worked again. I restarted, charged, opened bluetooth, forgot device, all of that done. It does register that the pencil is on it when I attach it to the magnet, but it just tries to pair and fails everytime. Tried a software update and it failed too. What can I do?

Hi KubicTom,

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities. We understand your Apple Pencil won't pair. It looks like you've come from a helpful article: Connect Apple Pencil with your iPad. You've tried all these steps below, correct?

"

If your Apple Pencil won't pair with your iPad

  1. Make sure to center your Apple Pencil (2nd generation) on the magnetic connector on the right edge of the iPad. For Apple Pencil (1st generation) and iPad (6th through 9th generations), remove the cap and plug your Apple Pencil into the Lightning connector on your iPad. For Apple Pencil (1st generation) and iPad (10th generation), remove the cap and plug your Apple Pencil and a USB-C cable into the USB-C to Apple Pencil Adapter. Plug the other end of the cable into your iPad.
  2. Restart your iPad, then try to pair again.
  3. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and make sure that Bluetooth is turned on.
  4. On the same screen, find your Apple Pencil under My Devices. If you find it, tap Information icon. Then tap Forget this Device.
  5. Connect your Apple Pencil into your iPad and tap the Pair button when it appears after a few seconds.
  6. If the Pair button doesn't appear, wait for one minute while your Apple Pencil charges. Then try connecting your Apple Pencil again and wait until the Pair button appears.
  7. If the Pair button still doesn't appear, contact Apple Support.

"

If that doesn't help, it may be a hardware issue and you'll want to contact Apple Support for service.

Take care.
