All of a sudden my phone is saying No Sim though it has - I have updated software and also taken SIM card out several times and put it back in - still not working - have also switched on and off and reset but still no joy. Any advice appreciated

You may need to contact your cellular service provider and request new sim. It's possible the SIM card simply failed.

You can test with another sim card from a friend or family member before requesting a new one from your service provider.

If another SIM card does not work, then the sim read hardware in the iPhone may be what failed. You would need to take it to Apple to get it checked out and repaired if necessary.
