icloud password reset stuck in a loop
Hello,
my 5th generation ipad recently, after many years, wanted me to sign in to my icloud with a password. I cannot recall it. I have tried to reset it via iforgot.apple.com, visited my local Apple store with the Genius Bar without success.
Problem seems to be a catch 22 situation, I do not know the icloud password, system wants me to access my icloud to verify, obviously I cannot do that so I am stuck in a loop.
The suggestion from the Genius Bar guy being if I could provide the receipt for the purchase in Feb 2018 from John Lewis, the managerof the Apple store could authorise the deletion of my Apple ID, then wipe out the ipad and start with a new Apple ID.
Any suggestions as to how I can recover from this ?
