How to solve slow boot-up with Apple Macbook

The Apple Macbook is booting up very slowly after a software update.


The letter D often does not register!

Try and boot the mac in the safe mode to see if the issue persists.

Booting in the safe mode will disable all external loaded software, so if it is not persisting in the safe mode, it is caused by an external piece of software. It seems like you’ve an intel mac, so see this instructions to boot in the safe mode on an intel mac


  1. Turn on or restart your Mac, then immediately press and hold the Shift key until you see the login window.
  2. Log in to your Mac.
  3. You might be asked to log in again.
  4. On either the first or second login window, you should see “Safe Boot” in the menu bar.
