Unlock carrier lock

I bought an iPhone 12 from Amazon and it is SIM locked. How do I unlock it?

You will need to contact the carrier it is locked to and ask them to unlock it. Most of them require a minimum service agreement before they will unlock it, it might be best to return it and get an onlocked phone from Apple

Did you knowingly purchase a carrier locked iPhone? If YES, then you will have to contact the carrier that the iPhone is locked to and ask about the requirements to get it unlocked by that carrier.

If you were sent a carrier locked iPhone while expecting an unlocked iPhone, then can you send it back to Amazon and get your money back?
