Lock Screen and Hone screen

I want the ability to have my Lock Screen and Home Screen be different. This latest update took that away and I am very disappointed. Even when you select “customize” for one, both screens update to the selected image. Updates should provide MORE flexibility and option, not take it away! How can we get this changed back to the way it was?

It is still possible to have different backgrounds on the lock and home screens.

1. Go to the lock screen (remember your iPhone must be unlocked)

2. Long press the screen and tap the blue "+"

3. First, choose a background for your lock screen

4. Customize the widgets you want to use on the lock screen.

5. Tap "Add" in the top right corner

6. Select Customize Home Screen and choose a background for your home screen, then press ok.

I just tested it on my iPhone, on iOS 16.3. It works.
