If you are asking about the Photos App, when you delete an image, it goes to the Recently Deleted Folder. After 30 days, it is automatically deleted.

If you want to speed up the process, you can open Photos > Albums > Recently Deleted and manually delete images. This can get a bit tedious if you have 100+ images or so to delete.
