Pairing iPad with MacBook Pro

When I try to pair my iPad and MacBook Pro, I get a message on my iPad saying "Macbook Pro is not supported." These devices used to pair, and both are up-to-date.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 12.6

While there are numerous activities that require Bluetooth to be turned on, those activities do not Bluetooth pairing in the traditional sense. Instead, see: Use Continuity to connect your Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch - Apple Support
