I followed this here from your response to my same question, Grant. I have the notifications turned off, so they're not popping up anymore, but isn't there something malicious still installed somewhere on my HD?

I found the solution from Apple Sr. Tech Advisor Kim! When using Safari with OS Ventura 13.2.1, this annoying and constantly recurring McAfee pop-up notification can be stopped by deleting the NOTIFICATIONS permissions under Safari > Settings > Notifications > Websites... and delete the NOTIFICATIONS listing.
@russraman response just above suggested changes to Safari preferences, but the suggested chain was not quite correct:
Safari > Preferences > Websites > Notifications
select each web site in turn and (Remove).
system preferences > Notifications ...
Look down the list on the left. If any are BLANK or not familiar select and disable notifications.
Be ruthless. Any mistakes can easily be turned back on later.
ah Ventura.
for 17 versions of MacOS, things operated in a similar way, and advice we provided worked for at least several recent versions of MacOS. Then came Ventura.
The internals are very almost identical, but everything you knew about the interface has changed in arbitrary and capricious ways.
Grant - There is not "Preferences" choice under the "Safari" dropdown menu in my version of Ventura 13.2.1 on my Mac Studio... hence, I clicked "Settings" to start solving my problem. Thanks for your help with this problem.
