Been happening for a while now... Running macOS Ventura 13.2.1... Have started in SAFE mode. No help... Back to regular login... Still finder often says "file can't be found" only to open if you double click on it a second time... Any solutions short of tossing any/all 3rd party software I might have, which is some but not much... And software I've been running for years and years without this problem, but now???? any help??? thanks...

If you're still having issues after starting in Safe mode, try verifying and repairing your disk in Disk Utility, resetting the SMC and NVRAM, or reinstalling macOS. If none of these steps work, there may be a hardware problem, and you should seek help from an authorized repair center.
Others have speculated that this is a hardware problem. I doubt it. I don't encounter any issues when working directly from the Terminal.
In any case, I used Onyx and ran all of its maintenance tasks. Now, the "file can't be found error" seems to have resolved. Recommended.
FWIW...Inevitably, those 3rd party apps you mentioned will continue to haunt you. Or become a constant nuisance to you. It is highly recommended that you remove them. All except Malwarebytes (if that is installed). I've also noticed Onyx not getting bad press here but if you have to use a 3rd party tool to fix what other 3 party apps cause, wouldn't that just become a vicious cycle?
Could you please provide a bit more information on Onyx? Is that software that you downloaded? I've been having this problem for about 6 months and would love fix. Thanks in advance!
