I have forgotten the log in to my Apple ID and my account is locked. The problem is I need to update WhatsApp before it expires in 48 hours. Apple will unlock my account in 2 weeks which is fine for everything else, but in the meantime I need to update Please can anyone help? Thanks

Thanks but it's a years worth of WhatsApp messages and video that I need to keep but I didn't realise it has never been backed up. Do you have any idea what happens to WhatsApp when a version expires? If I can get access and update in 2 weeks that's fine, I'm just worried it might all vanish when the version I have expires. You can install WhatsApp on your computer, then sync it to WhatApp on your phone.

Thanks, I did that install on windows and got it on the computer, but cannot get it to back up? Also I don't know if I can do that once it expires. I've been messing about with it for a week and am no closer.
Without getting back into that account, your only option is to delete and redownload WhatsApp.
