Your charger will handle 100-240 volts, so a power converter is not needed.
All that you need is a wall plug adapter so the U.S. plug will work with the European wall plug.
Most of Europe uses what is known as an F plug. It looks like this:
Amazon has them, or you can pay about 3 times as much at the airport shops
Italy is different, if you are going to Italy, you need an L plug.
You will likely need 3-4 adapters for the phones, razor, hair dryer, laptop, etc.
Most major hotels that cater to American travelers will usually have adapters as well.
Apple offers a "Worldwide" Travel Kit with various adapters to use all over the world. The problem.....you only get one adapter for the country that you need. The other adapters go unused.

If you use any Apple power source it will work with just a plug adapter. All Apple power sources are universal 100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz. If you have a 10 watt or higher Apple sells “snap on” adapter kits that have adapters for all world-wide power systems, but you can just use any commercial plug adapter.
If you are using an Apple supplied charge cube, you would simply need a plug adapter for the local power system.
