Airpods Warranty?

If I can get some advice or conformation on this please. A couple days ago I had broke my case and AirPods and keep in mind I had already threw them out but my thought on how I can redeem my AirPods warranty is I walk into the store and I show them my serial number and I tell them what had happened to them and I walk out of there with a brand new box with the case and AirPods.
