How to downgrade from Ventura to Monterey (Mac Studio M2 Ultra)?

I recently purchased a new Mac Studio M2 Ultra with OS Ventura pre-installed.

I tried to install Monterey with an external SSD with OS Monterey installer, after formatting the Mac Studio internal hard drive (APFS) using Disk Utility (from start up options)

But I get the message: "the update cannot be installed on this computer"

Is there a way to downgrade to OS Monterey?

No. You can't install a version of macOS earlier than what a Mac ships with.

What dialabrain said. If sufficiently motivated, you can install Parallels Desktop Pro (subscription) on Ventura and then install Monterey as a guest operating system.
