McAfee pop-up tells me that I've been "hacked"

How do I get rid of an annoying pop-up from McAfee that tells me that I've been "hacked" and I need to run a scan, once and for all? I know it's a phishing scam but I can't get rid of the pop-up.

If this is a notification that appears on the upper right of the screen, it is most likely a notification for a website that should not have been allowed. Check at Safari > Settings > Websites > Notifications, and change the site, or all sites, to Deny notifications. They can also be removed, but will ask again when visiting the site.
