Apple TV Remote stopped controlling soundbar volume

Just hold down the TV button and Volume down buttons simultaneously for 6 seconds and that should reset the Siri Remote and will fix the IR programming of the volume buttons.

ps- I wish I would’ve known the buttons to press for a restart!?! I spent two days trouble shooting the volume control feature! Mine quit working after my phone connected and wanted to be a remote control for the Apple TV. Lesson learned.

This actually did not work

This worked the first several times but now it’s not.

So for me the solution after messaging with an Apple tech was to factory reset the Apple TV and it started working fine. It’s a cruddy work around but it’s been about three weeks and no problems since then, everything is working as it should.

Not a fix for me

The reset of the remote worked. My remote refused to control my Samsung sound bar through IR. And I tried EVERYTHING… but this… including factory resetting the Apple TV… and this holding tv button and volume down for six seconds worked! IMMEDIATELY… back to one remote! THANK YOU!
