I am experiencing an issue with Preview on Mac where if I move or delete any shape or text, the original position of the shape or text remains visible. The only solution is to close and reopen the document, which is inconvenient and annoying.

Every annotation that you add in Preview is listed in the Inspector : Annotations Inspector panel. Click on the Annotation that you want to remove in that panel, and then press backspace. It is gone from the PDF or image (before saving it).

Can you post a screen shot of the problem? I don't see it.
