i lost my airpods and used the find my app and the sound didnt play

So recently i had lost my AirPods in my house, I searched up on how to find it and google said to use the Find My app. I used the app and clicked play sound (play sound is supposed to play a sound on your AirPods to find) and it said connecting so i waited 10 minutes and nothing happened. What am i supposed to do?

Hello ahmad_sajid,

If you're trying to use the Play Sound function in Find My and it just shows "Connecting", that would mean the AirPod is not currently in range of your device or another Apple device that has the Find My Network enabled on it. In order for the Play Sound function to work, the AirPods use the connection from your device or the cellular/Wi-Fi connection from another Apple device that has the Find My Network enabled on it to receive the signal to play a sound. If the AirPod is unable to connect with any Apple devices to receive the signal, then the sound will not play and it will just show "Connecting" in Find My.

Your AirPods play a sound for a few minutes to help you locate them, or until you stop the sound. If your AirPods aren’t connected to your device and you don’t have the Find My Network turned on, the sound plays the next time they connect to a Wi-Fi or cellular network.
