I’m unable to reset password because my son’s former school is the administrator and I don’t know the password. How do I reset or erase?

I forgot the password on my personal computer and can’t reset because the administrator is the school. I don’t know the login but need to remove all access for the school.

You will need to discuss the removal of supervision with the school, if the school IT had supervised this Mac.

If the Mac was managed and not supervised, then the following will clear all apps and other linkages to other Apple IDs that might be present here:

Here is how to: Erase and reinstall macOS - Apple Support

If you have data here, copy it elsewhere, or run a Time Machine backup.

A Time Machine backup can be migrated in as part of the macOS re-installation.
