HiDPI resolution

Is there a way to disable HiDPI on 2022 MacBook Air m2 after this latest update. I have software that I cannot use in HiDPI, it will not accept any input

Go to System Settings->Displays, click Advanced... and activate "Show Resolutions as List"; then choose Show All Resolutions.

M1 MacBook Pro not displaying retina resolution Hi all. For the past several weeks, I've been having a problem with my M1 MacBook screen resolution. I was attempting to change the resolution of the built-in screen by means of third party screen resizing apps, my goal was to turn off the HiDPI on the native MacBook screen and make it a scaled resolution instead for better compatibility/performance on apps. Now, when I go to System Preferences on the Mac, I only have two HiDPI options; those of which are too large for me. The other two options are scaled resolutions which isn't HiDPI but have more space. How would I reset this back? Is this some kind of bug? I would really like to take advantage of the retina resolution again. Messing with the third party app comes to no avail, even when quit. Thanks! :)

Unable to adjust display brightness I cannot change the brightness of my Macbook Pro 14" 2023, M2. I.e. the brightness bar in the system preferences/displays window is inactive and set to full brightness. The option to adjust brightness automatically is also inactive and isn't turned on. When pressing the brightness keys on my keyboard, the brightness symbol appears together with a lock indicating that the settings are locked. Why is that?? Could it have something to do with the latest update to Ventura 13.5.1? Or does it have something to do with the display settings? I need to adjust the resolution to get larger text, since my eyes are bad and the 14" display is small. I tried to set the display resolution back to standard, but the problem remains. I am using a LG external screen but the problem appears with and without having connected the Macbook to the external screen. Grateful for any suggestions beyond how to adjust brightness with the brightness bar and changing the display settings. Thanks.
