Unauthorized Apple Pay transaction that took place on 20 October 2023 at approximately 17:32:39 for an amount of AED 5000.00 at Etisalat

I am writing to report an unauthorized Apple Pay transaction that took place on 20 October 2023 at approximately 17:32:39 for an amount of AED 5000.00 at Etisalat, which I did not authorize or make. I would like to bring to your attention that I was travelling at the time I received the sms. I suspect this transaction is fraudulent. Kindly note that Apple pay was enabled in my wife's phone, authorized by me, but she was also at home (with her mobile) at the time of transaction.

• Transaction Amount: AED 5000.00
• Payment Method: Apple Pay
• Device Used: Device used for the transaction is not known
• Transaction Type: Apple pay as informed by bank (ADCB)
• Notification: Received sms notification on the purchase done

Unauthorized Nature:

I did not make or authorize this transaction, and I believe my Apple Pay credentials or device may have been compromised.

Actions Taken:

• As soon as I noticed the sms, I contacted my bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), and informed them about this fraudulent transaction.
• I have reported this faudulant transaction to the bank and my Apple Pay account and credit card are temporarily locked.
• ADCB responded to my dispute informing that the transaction was all secured and made using contactless - Apple pay, hence they can do nothing about this (copy attached).

I kindly request your assistance in investigating and resolving this matter. I would like to request a refund for the unauthorized transaction and ensure that my Apple Pay account is secure.

I am willing to cooperate fully and provide any additional information or documentation required for the investigation.
