How do you temporarily disable homekit devices?

Is it possible to temporarily disable a HomeKit device?

Use Case: I have quite a few HomeKit smart plugs that only get used around the holidays (think Halloween/Christmas lighting).

When I unplug these devices HomeKit displays them as unresponsive and lists them at the top due to the error.

I want to disable the device to remove the error warnings until they are needed/plugged back in again.

However, I don't want to delete them. That would require settings them back up in HomeKit and rebuilding the automations/scenes they were part of.

Hopefully there is a solution to this that I'm not seeing. Advice would be much appreciated.

What device do you use to view your HomeKit devices? On a Mac or an iPhone, I don't see a message at the top of the Home application for a non-responsive device. The "non-responsive" message is only displayed "within" the device itself.

On a Mac or iPhone, you could long-press the device and choose "Remove from Home View". It will disappear from the Home view but you'll still see it in the particular room it's associated to, from where you'll be able to add it again to the Home view.
