Homekit and New Aqara G3 Camera Programing

That sounds like a question you should be asking Aqara (or whater the name of the manufacturer is.

I want to utilize the G3 into my HomeKit (I already have Apple One so all set with storage) as well as the video storage on the Aqara cloud. I want the camera to setup an automation to run overnight where the camera is constantly recording and monitoring until a set time in the AM. Along with that, in HomeKit, I want to use geofencing to turn on recording the same way as overnight when just my wife and I are away from home. Is any of this possible?

What does the manufacturer's documentation say about how the device does or does not support Homekit?

You are not the only one Dave, I'm trying to do the same automations with the same camera. What I find odd is that I can't find the camera itself as an accessory within the automation creation in HomeKit, so I can't create an automation that turns it on/off.

In reply to Idris's comment, the manufacturer does specify it works with HomeKit and I have it effectively added and (mostly) working as expected.

I just can't create a simple automation that turns on/off the camera (let alone create a more complex one that includes that action in a more elaborate script).

I've contacted Aqara support, we'll see if I get any response. In the meantime, if anyone has any suggestion, it would be much appreciated.
