Sending an email as an attachment to a windows PC

Hi,

I use Outlook for Mac. When I send an email with an email as an attachment, if the receiver has an windows PC they are unable to open the attached email.

Is there anything I can do about this?

Thank you for your response David, much appreciated.

So the attached email is visible, but they just can't open it. It does seem like it's an anti-virus issue.

Unfortunately, Outlook for Mac doesn't seem to have that option to select "Always send Windows-Friendly Attachments." Pic below.

The cause is probably not with your email but the receiver's PC. The most likely culprit is an over-sensitive anti-virus software on the PC, but have a look at this longish list of possible causes and remedies.

You should also see if Outlook for Mac as a setting similar to that in your Mac's Mail application regarding attachments:

When Mail is the active application from the Menu Bar choose Edit > Attachments > Always send Windows-Friendly Attachments.

I don't use Outlook so I can't check it.

That makes a sort of sense, given that Outlook is written by Microsoft so you've have to assume they are up to having that as a baked-in setting.
