Black boxes above all the data/title fields

Getting black boxes that duplicate the information that is in the data/title field below the box. This occurs on every data field on the document where I have the curser as well as the on the top line of my screen. I must have turned this on somehow, but I don't know how to turn these boxes off. Can't provide a screen shot because the boxes go away while the command or control key is depressed. Can anyone help?
