Search on mac doesn't bring up results that I know exist on my laptop

I have a Macbook Pro 3-inch, M1, 2020 with Sonoma 14.1.1. With older versions of Mac OS if I used the Finder search, it would give me images or videos on my laptop. However, since upgrading it only brings up web results and random similar results, but not files on my hard drive or device. I have tried restarting my laptop and restarting Finder multiple times.
