How can I stop this infernal HomeKit Setup alert?

Apparently I’m not alone in this torturous Home Kit setup alert on mobile devices. I have no devices that require home kit, yet I’m prompted every day to setup the Home Kit on my iPad Air 2, and I’m really starting to lose it over the prompts. I’ve tried removing the Home app, removing the notifications for it, everything Apple has advised, yet I still get prompted each day. How do I keep from throwing this device in the trash and NOT get prompted each day?
