Trying to run the MRI visualizer Freeview remotely on my Mac (CentOS Linux client to Mac server) - loads but doesn't display data

My Mac doesn't display the images - just a blank screen, but the data does load (on the linux side). Linux to linux remote display works fine.

Error on the linux side:

libGL error: No matching fbConfigs or visuals found

libGL error: failed to load driver: swrast

I'm not sure if this is a client-side (linux) or server-side (Mac) error. Evidently, if Freesurfer is installed on a Mac, it runs (per YouTube instructional videos). It appears to be a client-server mismatch in XWindows, but how to I fix it?

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 14.2
