Because the voting system would be meaningless used if one could vote for their own content. Votes would mean nothing and be irrelevant if you could upvote your own post.
Because it would just make people spam different posts, and getting points by voting on them, which could potentially lead to a chaos and downfall of the Community. Furthermore, it would be irreverent and meaningless.
