Connecting Mac Pro to an interactive board for a presentation in university

In order for me to project the screen of my Mac to show PPT slides on an interactive board for a university presentation do I need a USBC adopter for MAC or an HDMI adopter for Mac and why ?

you go to the hall where your presentation will be made and inspect the Input Board. In most setups, the only interface with enough power behind the signals to go through that much cable is HDMI (at modest resolutions, typically well under 4K).

Depending on what model and model-year Mac you have, your computer may area have a Direct HDMI output, which is preferable. If not, an adapter or adapter/cable to HDMI is what you would use. Try to get one that has no more than ONE meter of USB-C cable leading up to the adapter.
