The Mac can support as many External drives as it has places to plug them in, plus many more.


Just drag and drop whatever files and folder you want to the external drive. Access will be far faster than files on google drive. Certain major directories MUST remain on the boot drive, Applications in particular.


Changing the NAME of the user account is not recommended, as it is trouble-prone.

Similarly, Moving the User's HOME folder can be problematic.


It is better to just create new folders or move some of the folder from inside the home folder, but not the Home folder itself.


if you wish to experiment with those, be sure to create an additional ADMIN User, just for Administration, in case your User Account gets damaged by experimentation.
