That’s the digital equivalent of receiving a letter with no return address.


Basically, the use of ‘noreply’ is one way to signal to a recipient that the line of communication is unidirectional. Outbound only. There’s no inbox set up to receive inbound mail (aka, you).


It’s really commonly used with automated email messages and is typically intended to be a courtesy…so you don’t waste your time drafting and sending a reply to either an inanimate object and/or the proverbial void.
