I am asked the password twice for 2 different users.

When I start my mac (macOS Sonoma 14.4.1) I asked first for the password of a user I deleted. Than after I type it in I am asked right away for the password of the user account that I use. How do I fix this issue?

if your disk was encrypted, and the (now-deleted) user account was the one used when encrypting the drive, the FIRST password is to enable decryption and allow access the boot drive.

The second password allows your current user to login, using the (now-readable) drive.

Drive conversion after disabling FileVault takes Hours to Days.

When you REQUEST conversion to/from FileVault, your Mac begins the conversion at low priority in the background. When your Mac is awake and not too busy, it will make progress. It will not complete for a very long time.

if you shutdown your Mac or allow it to sleep, conversion will continue once it is awake and not too busy. MOST operations are available while conversion is taking place. Install is NOT available.
