It is not as simple as that. I made custom presets that were duplicates of the ones for DVD in Compressor 4.7.

Then I opened Compressor 4.8 and tried using these duplicates. This is what happened:

The only way to use Compressor to burn discs, AFAICT, is to get a copy of 4.7.

Maybe you have one in your Time Machine backup.

Or get Roxio Toast Titanium.

All disc burning capabilities have been removed in the latest version of Compressor.

By the way, there is a misunderstanding about the size being “too big for a dvd”. When you make a dvd, the video is recompressed, so it does not matter how many GB it is, only the duration. Any video up to 90 minutes or more can be compressed for dvd.

I don’t know for sure, but I suspect that the underlying code has probably been removed, so my guess is that it won’t work.

You can and should rename it “Compressor 4.7” and zip that version before updating. Then, you can use it when necessary.

Luis, if the Create DVD and Create Blu-ray presets in Compressor 4.7 are duplicated as Custom presets, would they work in 4.8? I have not updated yet.
